Ross Willis - R Yorks CSM - OP PITTING- The Evacuation of Kabul
Ross Willis Ross served 22 years with the The Royal Yorkshire Regiment and recently retired as a Company Sergeant Major. Ross served all over the world but his career was defined by Afghanistan and its several operational names. In 2021, while based in Cyprus on Theatre Reserve, Ross' Company was crashed out to assist 16 Air Assault Brigade with the evacuation of Kabul in Afghanistan - OP PITTING. OP PITTING is made up of thousands individual human stories and is as worthy of preservation as any other British operation in the last century. The efforts of the Royal Yorkshire Regiment are often over-shadowed by that of the Americans and the Paras, but it is as just as important and I hope this goes some way in sharing it. Ross is a solid advocate of the Yorks' efforts during OP PITTING and his story is incredible. Please share far and wide and continue to support the work by subscribing to the YouTube page.
