SACRED MANTLE OF SAINT JOSEPH PREMISE It is advised to pray these prayers for thirty consecutive days, in memory of the thirty years of life lived by Saint Joseph in the company of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Countless are the graces obtained from God by turning to Saint Joseph. Saint Teresa of Ávila (1515-1582) said: "Whoever wants to believe, let them put it to the test, so that they may be persuaded." To more easily obtain His help, however, it is good to accompany these prayers with the promise of an offering for the Saint's worship. It is also good to have a pious remembrance for the Souls in Purgatory and to receive the Holy Sacraments in a spirit of penance and propitiation. With the same solicitude with which we wipe away the tears of the poor who need help, we can hope that Saint Joseph will wipe away our tears. Thus, the Mantle of your Patronage will piously extend over us and be a valid defense against all dangers, so that we may all, with the grace of the Lord, reach the port of eternal salvation. May Saint Joseph smile upon us favorably and always bless us. Saint Joseph, comfort of the afflicted, pray for us! Note: To receive God's graces more easily, it is necessary that we be in a "State of Grace," that is, with confession up to date (at least once a year, if possible monthly, as Our Lady asks) and devoutly participating in Sunday Mass (or on Saturdays where there is no Mass, or even in the Celebration of the Word in more remote places where there is no priest frequently).
