Jimmy Edwards: World War Two Hero and Comedian
Please join me in this video, Jimmy Edwards: World War Two Hero and Comedian. Jimmy Edwards was a British post-war Comedian who became a household name after being cast as Pa Glum in the BBC Radio Series 'Take it From Here'. He was also a World War Two hero who received the D.F.C (Distinguished Flying Cross) for his bravery in the Royal Air Force. Jimmy Edwards worked alongside many of our celebrated comedians, including June Whitfield, Stanley Holloway, Eric Sykes, and Arthur Askey, to name but a few! Jimmy Edwards' illustrious career spanned five decades – he was a controversial figure with political aspirations and a love for fox hunting and heavy drinking. He was a comedian, an actor, a musician, and a writer – he was certainly a man of many talents. Please join me as we walk around the cemetery where Jimmy Edwards is laid to rest and ponder some of the key moments in his eventful life. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.
