HMS Victory - The Conservation Team at Work
The conservation of HMS Victory is about far more than replacing timbers or keeping a 260 year old warship watertight. The aim is to preserve her original fabric so future generations can stand on the seagoing Victory herself, not a reconstruction. Every stage is documented, revealing new discoveries and insights that shape how we care for her and inform best practice across the heritage world. This work is carried out by our conservators and archaeologists, whose skill protects the nation’s most famous warship. Our latest film takes you behind the scenes with the team who keep Victory standing. https://www.nmrn.org.uk/hms-victory-l... NRYM8VR3NKJPEXJQ
