Spanish, however, is a Romance language, while Persian is an Iranian language. Spanish is the official language of Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Equatorial Guinea, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Spain, Uruguay, and Venezuela. Persian (Farsi) is primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, as well as some other regions in the Middle East and Central Asia.
