The Avro Jetliner
Long before the Avro Arrow became Canada's most infamous combat aircraft, manufacturer A.V. Roe Canada Ltd. made history with commercial craft. The Avro Jetliner was the first jet-powered transport plane to fly in North America. It made its debut in 1949. In this CBC-TV report from Take 30, Harry Brown profiles the aircraft and interviews James Floyd, chief engineer, and Don Rogers, the Avro Jetliner's test pilot.
