Animaux maltraités au cirque Fontanka de Saint-Pétersborug - REPORTAGES 24/06/2013
A scandal has rocked a Russian circus institution: the animal rights group Vita released footage of trainers beating a monkey and a kangaroo during rehearsals at the Fontanka Circus in St. Petersburg. Although the date of filming of these images has not been specified, numerous celebrities, such as filmmaker Alexander Sokurov, sent a letter to the new director, mime Slava Polunin, in which they asked him to stop performing with animals. But the famous Durov Circus in Moscow immediately reacted, calling on him to maintain this practice, which it considers traditional in Russian circuses. A long-form report on a major topical issue.
