It all started with a mysterious noise that appeared in my Mini JCW and the attempt to choose a quality hydroelastic engine mount. We compared: the aftermarket Lemfƶrder part, a Metzger mount, and the original BMW part produced by Vibracoustic. In the video we discuss technically: āļø how modern hydroelastic mounts work āļø what NVH (Noise, Vibration & Harshness) means āļø the differences between rubber compounds and their impact on vibrations āļø traceability, casting and quality control marks āļø why two parts that look identical can have completely different behaviors on the car āļø and how cost optimization influences the current quality of some well-known brands We analyzed the parts in detail, we even talked with ZF representatives and drew our own conclusions about the direction the aftermarket market is going. This video is dedicated to car enthusiasts and those who want to understand what is really behind a "simple" rubber and metal part.
