The story starts with a young village girl who gets cheated by a city youth in the name of love. Disappointed and frustrated, she decides to leave her village and come to the city in search of the man who deserted her. After she comes to the city, she faces a lot of struggle and obstacles come in her way since she is from a village. Withstanding all these obstacles, how she finds the man who deserted her forms the rest of the story. The village portions of the story were shot in and around the town of Pollachi. The story was written by Sri Priya whereas the screenplay was handled by Raj Prabhu with Suresh Girish penning the dialogues for this Mega Serial. The music for the title song of Suryavamsam was composed by Manisharma. The Mega Serial was directed by A.P. Rajendran. The cast included Meera Vasudevan, Vincent Rai, Sreenivas, Kannan, Shanthi Anand and many more.
