The Heavenly Race (1 Corinthians (:24) - Charles Spurgeon Sermon

A sermon delivered by C. H. Spurgeon, Friday afternoon, June 11th 1858. Spurgeon was preaching here just before his 24th birthday. He is outspoken and earnest in encouraging us to run the race to heaven with our entire being. As is so often the case, Spurgeon can move from the gently poetic to the scathingly ironic without so much as a whisper to suggest a change of pace. He seemed to believe as a young man that those in heaven watch over us on earth. Many of us see Scripture differently, but the weight of what he says will bless the hearer.
