Max (Maymay Entrata) invites Gab (Edward Barber) to partner up with her in a game of chicken fight. After Gab's (Edward Barber) constant pursuance, Max (Maymay Entrata) finally agrees to be his girlfriend. Gab (Edward Barber) fails to stand up for Max (Maymay Entrata) when Liza (Pinky Amador) catches them together in his room. Max (Maymay Entrata) decides to break up with Gab (Edward Barber) upon his failure to explain their relationship to his mother. Gab (Edward Barber) and Max (Maymay Entrata) catch up with each other after summer vacation and decide to be just friends. Gab (Edward Barber) confesses to Max (Maymay Entrata) that he never stopped loving her and asks for a second chance. After getting their parents’ approval of their relationship, Gab (Edward Barber) and Max (Maymay Entrata) continue to love each other when they get to college. While celebrating their anniversary, Gab (Edward Barber) discovers a lump in Max's (Maymay Entrata) legs. Max (Maymay Entrata) delivers the heartbreaking news about her illness to Gab (Edward Barber). Upon learning that her leg will be amputated, Max (Maymay Entrata) puts on a brave face in front her loved ones. Gab (Edward Barber) can only watch from a distance as Max (Maymay Entrata) breaks down in her parents’ arms. In spite of Max (Maymay Entrata) pushing him away, Gab (Edward Barber) promises that he will always be there for her.
