Russia's registry of controlled individuals includes approximately 160,000 Tajik citizens, including nearly 25,000 minors. Authorities recommend those planning a trip to Russia check their status in advance. Russia also continues to tighten its immigration laws. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in migrants being denied or renewing their work permits and may also require them to leave the country.
