Dubbed “the hottest artist on the classical music planet” by The New York Times, the pianist Lang Lang has reached a level of stardom rarely generated in classical music. He’s known for his showmanship and charm, but when he traveled at age 11 from China to Germany for the International Competition for Young Pianists, it was raw talent that won him first prize.
