Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this OptiMate 3 AC to DC 12 volt Dual Bank Smart Battery Charger. Now, this is a nice compact smart charger, which will draw power from an AC wall outlet to automatically charge, test, and maintain two 12 volt lead-acid batteries. So this is perfect for cars, motorcycles, lawnmowers, ATVs, and personal watercraft, and it does offer two battery banks, which will allow multiple 12 volt batteries to be charged simultaneously. It is designed to work with 12 volts standard AGM and gel lead-acid batteries. Does offer multiple battery profiles that'll let you charge a variety of lead-acid battery types at different voltages, and it does give you a seven step charging algorithm, which will automatically charge and maintain without overcharging. Basically, it'll analyze your battery condition to provide a customized charge for that case. It does use a built-in battery desulfator, which will restore loss battery capacity, and it does test automatically and indicate if there's a battery problem. The case right here is a nice durable weatherproof case, it does include a spot right here, two holes in the bottom, two on top, where you can wall mount this. Does come with a six foot AC supply lead that'll plug into your AC outlet, and down here, you got two 6 foot long charge leads with SAE connectors on each end that'll plug into your connectors here, and also what's nice is on the box itself, there's a QR code. You can scan that QR code, and it'll give you more instructions on this. It does come with a printed set of instructions also. Now, the leads that comes with it, comes with two sets of battery clamps here, which will provide a nice, quick, easy way to connect to your battery. The battery clamps will clamp right on, they are about 20 inches total length, and there's your SAE connector that'll plug in to the SAE connector there, and again, comes with two sets. Also comes with two sets of eyelets, eyelets are a little more permanent, that'll let you make a secure connection to your battery terminal. Does have a 15 amp fuse inline to protect electronics from potential short circuits, and again, it has an SAE connector that'll plug into your connectors on the charger, does have even a nice weatherproof seal, and a cap that'll help keep out any dirt and water from the connection. The eyelet connectors are same way, about 20 inches in length, and again, it comes with two of those. One other thing it comes with, if you noticed, might be hard to see, but on the plugs right here, there's two slits, one on each side, and what that does is it allows you to put a zip tie through there, and allow it to easily fasten to your vehicle. This is a very simple operation, uses LED lights that'll indicate the charging status. Specs again, this'll work on 12 volt batteries from 2 1/2 to 50 amp hours. The battery types supported are the standard AGM and gel lead-acid batteries, and the maximum charging amperage is 0.8 amps per bank.
