On the third day of my Hokkaido motorcycle tour, I stayed another night at the Kutcharo Lake campsite and headed to the northernmost area with light gear. I rode along Cape Soya, the White Road, Cape Nosappu, and the Esanuka Line, enjoying the spectacular scenery that is so typical of Hokkaido. However, I had two close calls when deer suddenly jumped out onto the road in one day, once in Wakkanai and once on the Esanuka Line. In the evening, I had a great time chatting with some older riders I met at the campsite. It was a day filled with breathtaking scenery, unexpected events, and wonderful encounters along the way.
