AMD 6970M upgrade for 2009 iMac 27" [Video Card]

Video shows how to install a Radeon 6970M video card (from a 2011 iMac) into a late 2009 27" iMac which originally came with a 4850 graphics card. And although I don't think CPU type matters in terms of compatibility with the 6970M, please note that my CPU is an i7. ⚠️ April 27, 2020: Please read my Pinned Comment and comments tied to it for the latest info. Specifically, my son discovered a big caveat that triggers a sudden power-off of the iMac. In my case, the iMac wouldn't boot fully and would freeze at the Apple logo screen with the progress bar only 50% finished, sometimes with screen artifacts. At times when it would boot to the desktop, there were artifacts that made using the computer impossible. I just used what I had. But you should try to make straight cuts.
