A crew of seafaring enthusiasts rose to the challenge, and this saga now arrives on Canal Náutica. You'll follow the journey to Antarctica in the series "Endurance 64: The Polar Sailboat," in partnership with Yanmar engines. It was Cícero Vieira, the owner of the Endurance 64, who assembled the diverse and skilled team of navigators for the expedition. Together, the crew set sail from the Port of Santos, Brazil, and braved icy waters, biting cold, and the dreaded Drake Passage before setting foot in Antarctica. The documentary will showcase everything from the beauty of the frozen land, with its nearly untouched landscapes and places where nature takes over, to the challenges faced by the crew. The Machines Behind the Antarctic Adventure At 64 feet long and with an aluminum hull, the Endurance 64 sailboat housed the sailors on this Antarctic expedition for three months. Designed by Thierry Stump, a Belgian who adopted Brazil as his home, and completely refurbished in 2021, the boat's name pays homage to the legendary Endurance, owned by Sir Ernest Shackleton—the most famous navigator passionate about Antarctica.
