Tripura Vlog 7 নীরমহলে যাওয়ার তেমন কোনো প্ল্যান ই আমাদের ছিল না। কিন্তু আগরতলার স্থানীয় বন্ধু বাপ্পি যে কিনা মাত্র একদিনের পরিচয়ে আমাদের প্রতি অত্যন্ত আন্তরিক হয়ে উঠলো। তার পরিকল্পনা অনুয়ায়ী আমরা নীরমহলে যাওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত চূড়ান্ত করলাম। সকালবেলা প্রথম বাপ্পী আমাদের তাঁর নিজের বাড়িতে নিয়ে গেল। তারপর একটা মাইক্রোগাড়িতে চড়ে নীরমহলের দিকে যাত্রা করলাম। বিরাট এক আনন্দঘন পরিস্থিতি ছিল পুরো ভ্রমণটাতে। রাজা বাহাদুর বীরবিক্রম কিশোর মাণিক্য ১৯৩০ সালে নীরমহল নির্মানের কাজ শুরু করেন ৮ বছর পর অর্থাৎ ১০৩৮ সালে তা সম্পুর্ন হয়। চতুর্দিকে জলবেষ্টিত প্রাসাদ পুরো ভারতে মাত্র দুটি ই রয়েছে। এই স্থাপত্যে ত্রিপুরার ধর্মনিরপেক্ষ বাঙালিত্বের পরিচয় পাওয়া যায়। সারদিন ঘুরেফিরে আবার যখন সীপাহিজলা থেকে আগরতলা ফিরছি তখন নিজেকে এক নতুন মানুষ হিসেবে আবিষ্কার করি আমারা সবাই। আমরা যেনো একটা ঘোরের মধ্যে ঢুকে গিয়েছিলাম। We had no plans to go to Neermahal. But Bappi, a local friend of Agartala, became very sincere to us after just one day of acquaintance. According to his plan we finalized the decision to go to Neermahal. First thing in the morning Bappi took us to his own house. Then I boarded a microcar and traveled to Neermahal. It was a very pleasant atmosphere throughout the trip. Raja Bahadur Birvikram Kishore Manikya started the construction of Neermahal in 1930 and it was completed after 8 years i.e. in 1038. There are only two palaces surrounded by water in the whole of India. The secular Bengali identity of Tripura can be found in this architecture. When we are returning from Seepahizla to Agartala after a long day, we all find ourselves as new people.
