How to create fur effects in illustrator

In this video, we look at how to create fur effects in illustrator using blending, replace spine techniques and the roughen effect. It is helpful for this technique that you have in mind an object or path that you wish to apply the effect to and start working on the shape to perfect the look of the fur effect as its length will affect the blending part of the process. Blending requires two or more shapes to morph their colours and path appearance. This morphed effect is then added to a straight line segment connecting the two (or more) base shapes, this is called the spine. To add the blend to a different shape you can select the blend and the new path and transfer the base blend shapes onto the new 'spine'.
