Situated by the foot of Brahmagiri mountain ranges and surrounded by forests, the temple is well known for the Papanasini that is situated close to the temple, where many come to do the bali karmas for their dear ones who are dead, and thus believe that the soul may get it's moksha. The route to the temple is through forest and deer, wild gaurs and elephants are usual sight. Tigers and leopards could also be sighted if you are lucky enough.
