Our Niigata trip has finally begun! This time, our journey starts from "Michi-no-Eki Niigata Furusato-mura," a popular roadside station in Niigata Prefecture, and heads towards Shibata. First, we explore the roadside station and introduce Niigata's unique souvenirs and local specialties. Using the benefits of the roadside station stamp book, we also tried feeding the Nishikigoi (koi carp). Furthermore, we enjoyed Niigata's famous Sasa Dango (bamboo leaf-wrapped rice dumplings). For lunch, we went to Kojimaya Sohonten, a long-established restaurant known as the birthplace of Hegisoba (buckwheat noodles). It's a popular restaurant with lines forming even before opening, and we savored authentic Hegisoba. The smooth texture and firm bite were unforgettable.
