Johann Sebastian Bach - Suite No. III performed by Ferdinand Binnendijk on the Liuto cantabile
Suite No. 3 in C major BWV 1009 (all movements) performed by Ferdinand Binnendijk on the Liuto cantabile, the concert Mandoloncello of the Mandolin family. This 3rd of six Suites originally composed for the Violoncello, has the following movements: Prélude, Allemande, Courante, Sarabande, Bourree I & II and Gigue. The five double strings of the Liuto cantabile (also named the Liuto moderno) are tuned from the lowest to highest pair as: CC-GG-dd-aa-e'e'. The Dutch Mandolinist Ferdinand Binnendijk studies the mandolin and the Liuto cantabile at the ArtEZ Conservatory/Music Highschool in Zwolle, Netherlands. A video by HET CONSORT, April 2016.
