So says author Emma Becker who decided to become a prostitute for two years in Berlin in order to research her acclaimed novel "La Maison". She says the experience taught her a thousand things, but mostly that the power dynamics in the brothel she worked in were not what you might expect. She says it was the women who felt they had the power, and although prostitution can be about slavery, there is much more to it than that.
