Image Picker & Firebase Storage in React Native (Expo Go) | SWE Summer Camp – Lecture 19

Learn how to let users pick or take a photo in a React Native / Expo app, preview it in a settings screen, and upload it to Firebase Storage. In this lecture we talked about: Using expo-image-picker to open the camera / photo library in an iOS app running in Expo Go Attaching or taking a photo and showing the preview in a settings screen Converting the picked image into a blob for upload Uploading the blob to Firebase Storage and linking it back to the user's Firestore document This builds directly on Lecture 18, where we set up Firestore, security rules, and saved our first user-scoped document — now we're attaching an image to that same user record.
