Wood Turning - Cosmic Centrifugal Tulip Wood Platter
For my project this week I decided to make a platter from a 10 inch by 10 inch piece of tulip wood I had. I turned the shape with my Easy Wood Tools. Using my iridescent Jo Sonja paints in both swirls using bubble wrap and centrifugal forces to create a layered design on top of Ebonizing lacquer. I then cut out the centre which I finished with Chestnut Cut and Polish and Wood Wax 22 before creating an outer and inner Golden Ring with the paints and finishing the piece with layers of Acrylic Lacquer.
