茨城の初夏を彩る 花しょうぶ園 4選 ／ 4 Iris Gardens That Color Early Summer in Ibaraki

First up is 'Suigo Itako Iris Garden' in Ayame, Itako City. Here, about 500 varieties and one million ash plants bloom in full bloom, with purple, white, and yellow flowers beautifully decorating the waterside. This year, from May 22 to June 21, the "Iris Festival" is held, attracting many tourists as an early summer tradition. The festival's specialty is the 'bridal boat,' where the bride rides in a pure white bridal dress and slowly travels along the waterway toward the ayame garden where the groom awaits. This is the 'Suigo Itako Iris Garden,' where you can enjoy the beautiful Itako flowers and the charm of the water town. The second to introduce is the 'Aoyama Iris Garden' in Shimo-Aoyama, Shirosato Town. This is a flower iris garden developed by utilizing fallow rice fields, and has been carefully managed by members of the local Aoyama Iris Preservation Society. Surrounded by lush satoyama, this shroom garden blooms in June with about 70 varieties of iris in full bloom, including purple, white, and pink. In the quiet natural satoyama, you can find healing in the flowers filled with the love of the local community. The third to introduce is 'Nishiyama no Sato Togen' in Arajuku, Hitachiota City. This is the entrance to Seizanso, where Tokugawa Mitsukuni, known as Mito Komon, spent his retired life in his later years. The approximately 8,000-square-meter garden leading to Seizanso features 20 varieties and roughly 3,000 iris flowers in full bloom. The iris flowers in 'Nishiyama no Sato Togen' add a touch of early summer to the beautiful scenery woven by history and nature. The fourth place to introduce is Shiki-no-Sato Park in Midori, Moriya City. As its name suggests, this park offers seasonal scenery, but in early summer, about 31,000 iris flowers bloom in full bloom, captivating many visitors. Colorful iris flowers bloom around the pond, vividly coloring the waterside scenery. By strolling leisurely along the tree-lined paths within the park, you can soothe your heart with the elegant iris flowers blooming by the water in early summer.
