BARBRA STREISAND **15 OF HER BEST VOCAL RECORDINGS II** (BEST HD QUALITY)
TRACK LISTING: 1 Cry Me A River 2 Nobody’s Heart Belongs To Me (Live Bonsoir) 3 Happy Days Are Here Again (Live My Name Is Barbra) 4 Anyplace I Hang My Hat Is Home (Live Color Me Barbra) 5 The Nearness Of You (Live A Happening In Central Park) 6 One Less Bell To Answer/ A House Is Not A Home 7 You’re The Top (Ryan O’Neil) 8 Love 9 I Never Has Seen Snow (Live Barbra Streisand And Other Musical Instruments) 10 If I Close My Eyes 11 With One More Look At You/ Watch Closely Now 12 You Don’t Bring Me Flowers (Solo Version) 13 Memory 14 Being Good 15 Someday My Prince Will Come While many of these tracks are not Barbra Streisand’s most well-known, in my opinion they are some of her very best vocals. With the exception of “Someday My Prince Will Come” (2001), all of the other tracks are from the 1960s and 1970s. The simplicity of the 19 year old Streisand singing “My Heart (Belongs To Me)” is remarkable. With only a piano, vocal clarity, strong emotional yearning, no power notes and incredible pitch she delivers one of her very best recordings. It is not overproduced because it is an early live recording. When people tuned into Streisand's Television Specials in the 60s they were blown away not only by the creativity but also by her live performances in the concert sequence at the end. Up till then she was really only on guest spots such as the Ed Sullivan show. She had really refined her chic new “Streisand look” as well as her performance style by this time. “Happy Days Are Here Again” and “Anyplace I Hang My Hat Is Home” are from here first 2 Specials. I think the strength of her voice increased in part from her simultaneous run in Funny Girl on Broadway. “The Nearness of You” is from her Happening In Central Park Concert. I have always been impressed by her amazing improvisational skills. Being able to change the melody with it actually sounding better than the original. It is a gift. The next songs are all from the 70s/80s. They are all stand out songs vocally in my opinion. I think some people who listen to this solo recording of “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers” will be blown away. Her understated version of John Lennon’s love is beautiful. "I Never Has Seen Snow" is a masterclass in breathing and complete voice control and emoting. This is from a performer with no vocal training! Barbra Streisand is in a class of her own. Enjoy!
