Speaking immediately after the launch of the project, Mkwajuni Ward Councilor, Sheibath Thobias Kapingu, said the construction of the school in Chudeko Village, Melelani Subdistrict, is the result of the Government's efforts in collaboration with the Songwe Constituency Member of Parliament, Philipo Mulugo, the CCM Chairman of Mkwajuni Ward and the Songwe District Council. Kapingu said that apart from improving education services, the project will open up various development opportunities including the construction of road infrastructure, increased business activities and boosting the economy of the people of Chizya area. Representing the Director of the Songwe District Council, Planning Officer Mahenge has urged the citizens to provide sufficient cooperation in the construction of the school as well as ensuring that the project is protected so that it is completed on time. For his part, the Acting Head of the Council's Procurement Unit, Abraham Ponera, said he will not tolerate delays in the project and urged the committee that will oversee the construction to carry out its duties professionally and responsibly. And the Songwe District traditional leader of the Ibungu Nation, Philipo Musa Mbindi, has given his blessings for the implementation of the project, saying it will bring great benefits to the current community and future generations. Some citizens, including Ostabey Primary School Principal Eliyun Lupina and Yunisen Mwaitega, have said the school will reduce the challenge of student overcrowding in existing schools and facilitate access to education for students who will begin their studies in the new academic year.
