First Flight Timeline

DJI Mini 3 First Flight Timeline! From the beginning, get it off the ground, hit record and play around with the controls. 3.48 first landing using the RC-2 controller screen, Missed the blue pad! 5.44 second take off. 6.42 second landing, missed the pad again! Still using the RC-2 controller screen. 6.49 third take off. 8.02 I’m getting more confident now, going to fly through the rose arch. Still using the RC-2 screen and not watching the drone. 10.50 turning the drone around, so I can see the pergola roof, then back the drone up past it and land. 11.07 disaster backed it in to the oak tree and crashed! The damage, two broken rotors on the same arm and that was all I thought replaced them and took it for another flight. Message on the screen, recalibrate gimble, followed the instructions but it would not recalibrate. Checked the drone and I had not checked the camera gimble, I had knocked it off its axis and damaged the rubber mounting to the right (phew) no wires on this side. Bonus point: The drone is still flyable and records as if there was nothing wrong with it. Went to work and explained what happened to another drone flyer (an expert) and he said did you fly with the camera zoomed in? This would cause you to miss the landing pad and back in to the tree as you’re thinking the drone is somewhere it’s not. He checked it over and flew it was flying 100% OK.
