⛈️ Thought I was Going to Die on a Boat in Guatemala – Lake Atitlán Thunderstorm Ride w/ Captain Leo

Our return from a cooking class in Santa Cruz to Casa Floresta quickly turned into a full disaster movie. Rain hammered the boat, lightning flashed across Lake Atitlán, the waves kept getting bigger, and Leo pushed through it all in his poncho with a tarp stretched across the front to keep the storm out. Then came the dramatic climax: lightning in the sky, the boat launching over huge waves, and all of us doing an actual stadium-style “wave” inside the boat like this was somehow the appropriate response to possible doom.
