Pendakian Cepat Gunung Kerinci 2 Hari 1 Malam | Atap Sumatera | Part 1
While most people typically climb this mountain in three days and two nights, I think two days and one night is enough to reach the Roof of Sumatra, Mount Kerinci. This was my first climb to Mount Kerinci. If we take the Kersika Tuo Trail, to reach the summit we have to pass three posts and three shelters, with an estimated climb of 9-12 hours from basecamp to the summit. There are several things you should know if you're planning to climb Mount Kerinci. First, Mount Kerinci is quite challenging, with challenging trails and heavy transportation costs, especially for those of us living outside of Sumatra. Even for those of us in Sumatra, it's quite an effort. We encountered groups from Pekanbaru or Lampung, for example, who had to travel overland for decades. But that's not really what I want to highlight; it's just an intermezzo. Because expensive or cheap is relative. What I want to emphasize more is that this mountain's trail is indeed quite challenging, above average compared to the mountains I've climbed before. The next thing you need to know is that the Mount Kerinci via Kersik Tuo trail is divided into three posts and three shelters. Listed from the bottom, starting from the jungle entrance, there are posts 1, 2, and 3. After that, there are shelters 1, 2, and 3. Between posts 1 and 3, these are only temporary rest areas; camping is not permitted. Meanwhile, between shelters 1 and 3, in addition to being temporary rest areas, they can also be used as campsites. The reason why we're prohibited from setting up tents or spending the night between posts 1 and 3 is because tigers are still common in this area. Yes, that's right, folks! This is Sumatra, not Java. While the Javan tiger has been declared extinct, the Sumatran tiger is a different story. Thankfully, they still exist, although their population is not large. Therefore, for the safety of both climbers and the tiger itself, the area between posts 1 and 3 is not recommended for overnight stays. Furthermore, the forest vegetation in this area is still quite dense, with large trees. The concern is that a tree could fall onto the tent at any time. Even during the rain, we encountered two types of leeches several times: the red leech and the black leech. It's not funny, right? Camping with leeches all around our tent... So, I split this video into two parts. Watch Part 2 here: • Pendakian Cepat Gunung Kerinci 2 Hari 1 Ma...
