SKippy’s Guillow’s SBD‑3 Dauntless RC Conversion – Maiden Flight & Dive Brake Update

After waiting for the right weather window, the Guillow’s SBD‑3 Dauntless finally gets its maiden flight — and she didn’t disappoint. Once committed at the field, the model flew really well, with stable handling and predictable behaviour. She does need a bit of speed in tighter turns due to the scale‑sized ailerons, so if you’re building your own Dauntless you may want to extend them slightly for extra authority. I’ve also included additional footage from a more recent flight after fitting the air/dive brakes, which really completes the look of the aircraft in the air. I’m very happy with how the Dauntless flies and looks, and this build has taught me a few useful lessons that I’ll be taking into my next project — the Guillow’s A6M Zero.
