Performer Bio William Cerny (Yale University — Phi Beta Kappa, Magna Cum Laude) is a retired Professor of Music at the University of Notre Dame, where he chaired the Music Department from 1972–1981. Prior to his tenure at Notre Dame, he taught for 13 years at the Eastman School of Music and worked professionally as an accompanist in New York City.
