The inspiration for writing this song was the story described in the Gospel of John, chapter 4, verses 4–30 — the meeting of Jesus Christ with the Samaritan woman. For me, this story has always been special. In difficult times, as a Samaritan woman, I often need that living water that only the Lord can give. I hope that for some of you this song will also become truly special. At the well, at noon, A tired woman came to get water. People did not know her pain in her soul And only Jesus spoke in silence: “Give Me a drink of water…” He felt that I was broken. He did not judge, did not turn away, And touched the heart of the thirsty. You are the living water, That healed me. Where there was emptiness — The power of God appeared. And I no longer seek In people for happiness. Because You found me And now I am Your child. I have run away from myself so many times, Looking for love in everyone but You. But only Your gaze lifted my burden, And for the first time the pain from my wounds subsided. You gave me living water So that I would never thirst again. You did not judge, did not turn away, And touched the heart of the thirsty. You are the living water That healed me. Where there was emptiness, The power of God appeared. And I no longer seek In people for happiness. Because You found me And now I am Your child. And now I cannot remain silent, I run to tell people: “I have met the One Who was able to save me.” He is the Messiah, My God and Savior Emmanuel, He is the Lord and my Redeemer.
