A single visit to the public bath costs 500 yen, and you can enjoy hot springs and local cuisine all within easy walking distance in this hot spring town! ♨️ I stayed overnight in my car in the heart of Izu-Nagaoka's hot spring town. 🚐 This time, I used the RV base of the container hotel "Sakanaya Stay." The public baths were easily accessible with a 500 yen ticket, allowing me to fully enjoy the hot springs. ♨️ Furthermore, I also enjoyed the local cuisine of the hot spring town, which can be explored entirely on foot. The famous "Numazu Gyoza" is prepared in an unusual style: it's cooked by frying and then boiling. It has a unique texture, like fried boiled dumplings, and is so delicious you'll want to eat several. I was also drawn to the new cloudy sake and enjoyed a daytime drink at a standing bar. 🍶 I enjoyed a relaxed and luxurious time, unique to a hot spring town. We relaxed in the soft hot springs at Izumi-so, a hot spring inn in Nagaoka No. 1, a place loved by the Showa-era literary giant, Mushanokoji Saneatsu… In the evening, we went to a popular local yakitori restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed the half-portion of ramen and minced chicken rice to finish off the meal! Furthermore, we enjoyed a second round of drinks in the car with fresh sashimi from Suruga Bay 🚐🍺 The next morning, we enjoyed a morning bath at Hachinobo, a hot spring inn that is also dog-friendly. We spent a leisurely morning while admiring the scenery. We also enjoyed comparing different types of hot spring steamed buns, and fully experienced the charm of a hot spring town where you can find everything you need just by walking.
