S1 Signature Snooker Club - Bangkok

Thailand becomes the 2nd country outside the UK to feature on Snooker Places! The venue for this episode was the S1 Signature Snooker Club in Sukhumvit in Bangkok, one of four S1 venues in the city. The Sukhumvit club has 15 tables and when all are in use, as they were when we were in town, there is a fantastic atmosphere. Our visit coincided with tournament night at the club – and it was the faster paced, six-red snooker that they were playing. In 2023 Thailand hosted the last Six-red World Championship to be held at the Thammasat University Convention Centre in Pathum Thani. Ding Junhui won the title, defeating local favourite, Thepchaiya Un-Nooh 8-6 in the final. There were plenty of budding Thepchaiya’s on show at the S1 Signature Club. Some excellent competitive snooker and great to see a couple of youngsters enjoying the scene – brothers Thamma and Thammo. Thamma, 11, is a terrific talent and he was playing in the main tournament. He looked set for victory with a very composed performance until his opponent kicked into gear and started potting them off the lampshades. So that just left him to compete in the one that really matters, the Black Ball Finish, against his brother, Thammo who is only 8. A big thanks to them for taking part and to their father, Boy, who was kind enough to set everything up. Don't forget to subscribe to the channel.
