The series premiered on The CW Television Network on September 10, 2009, and is currently in its second season.[1] The series follows the events in the town of Mystic Falls, Virginia, a fictional small town haunted by supernatural beings. The main focus of the series is the love triangle between the female protagonist Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) and two vampire brothers with dark pasts. Background music: "Wish You Were Here" is a song by Avril Lavigne. It was written by Lavigne, Max Martin and Shellback, and produced by the latter two for her forth studio album Goodbye Lullaby (2011). The song has peak on the Billboard Hot 100 and on the Canadian Hot 100 at number ninety-nine and sixty-four positions, respectively.
