Drum Cover - Critical Acclaim by Avenged Sevenfold

I've always thought this was a cool song; A7X opened with it when I saw them. For a young guy in his 20s, Jimmy Sullivan had a ton of sophisticated and cool drum rhythms in his songs. He must have had a really advanced drumming brain to come up with so many tricky and yet smooth patterns without any formal training. Stylistically, I like him a lot. What a shame he got mixed up with serious drugs. I never realized it until I was making this video, but there is a whole layer of "super bass" in this song. It's like they recorded a drop-tuned rhythm guitar, a normal bass line, a drop-tuned whopper bass line, and then the bass drums with toms together. In a few spots (e.g. coming out of the hi-hat 16th sections) it becomes hard to distinguish the 16th note triplets and runs on the low toms. This wall of bass is probably awesome on a system with a huge sub-woofer, but it makes my drumming sound muddy. Had I known I would have played more snare fills.
