OCB Inspired by Nature - ACACIA, the roots of Kenya

Being true to our origins also means caring about the origin of everything we do, and since the very beginning, OCB has used acacia gum in our papers. If we trace the origin of this key element in OCB papers all the way back, we’ll find a tree that is quite unlike any other, a tree that can withstand the harsh Sub-Saharan weather, a tree that provides food, shade and shelter to the inhabitants of the region: the mighty acacia. The role that acacia trees can play in reverting climate change and desertification in Africa led us to define our contribution: To replant trees in areas affected by desertification, areas where they are needed the most. Reforestation is one of the most effective ways of battling desertification; hence, it was only natural for us to turn to the mighty acacia tree, the veritable hero of this story.
