Alpine NP - The Bogong high plains

Four walks from the Bogong High Plains area. Autumn 2022 #3 : Mt Cope - The Jaithmathangs - Mt Nelse - The Fainters. Distances : Mt Cope - 3 km return : The Jaithmathangs - 12 km return : Mt Nelse - 10km return : The Fainters - 20 km return. Walking conditions : Tracks and foot pads, with the occasional snowgrass crossing. Notes : The Bogong high plains, a large area of rolling uplands averaging 1600 to 1800 metres in height, are a wonderful part of the Victorian high country. The Jaithmathangs and Fainters are the high points of a long ridge to the west of the area, with The Razorback and Mt Feathertop on the next line of ridges. Mt Nelse is to the north of the plains, and Mt Cope is in the south-eastern section.
