#37 “The Barzegar” — head on the inside double for wrestling and Jiu Jitsu
In 1997, I learned how to do the Barzegar from the man himself, and I can tell you that none of us are doing it like him. That’s fine, because his way takes world class timing. The Barzegar is essentially a head on the inside double leg takedown. It’s best used when you are “running the pipe” and he puts his leg to the outside. You then switch directions, block his far leg, run him over, and secure the side control pass with the far side underhook. Here, I show the details to make this work at any level. I used this many time in D1 collegiate wrestling, and continue to use it in Jiu Jitsu.
