“¿A dónde va la sangre cuando hacemos ejercicio?”

To maintain vital functions, the heart constantly pumps blood, distributing it throughout the body. However, during exercise, the heart increases both heart rate and stroke volume, and therefore, the volume of blood traveling through the circulation is much greater. This volume of blood per minute is known as cardiac output. Interestingly, during exercise, the blood vessels that carry blood to the muscles dilate, while the blood supply to other organs is reduced. In this episode, we briefly review how and why cardiac output is distributed during exercise. Welcome.
