TAKING OUT THE KNOTS At an Auckland factory, plywood is sliced from pine logs; to get knot-free ply, growing trees must be pruned with a novel tree-bicycle. EXTENDING LYTTELTON To meet the growing needs of traffic at the port of Lyttelton, Cashin Quay has been rebuilt. It is opened by the Governor-General.
