"UEFA Champions League Anthem" by Tony Britten - P. Barton FEURICH piano
This well-known contemporary composition by Tony Britten came about as a commission for an anthem based on “Zadok the Priest” by G.F. Handel. Britten was requested to write a similarly uplifting work, based on Handel’s Anthem, written for the coronation of King George II in 1727, as a “theme” for the UEFA Champions League. Interview with Tony Britten: UEFA Champions League anthem • Video Britten’s score for solo piano is “Creative Commons” and can be downloaded free from the IMSLP Music Library: https://imslp.org/wiki/Zadok_the_Prie...) Go to the “Arrangements and Transcriptions” tab and scroll down to “For Piano (Britten)” *Please note: in my recording I improvise chords and occasionally drop the left hand 1 or 2 octaves below this published score. Also, ignore the natural in bar 34, it should read A major (not minor).
