Lawrie Manujothi Ashram © 2022 SEVENTEENTH DISCOURSE - The Secret of three types of people & their mode of worship The characters and the actions of the three types of people endowed with threefold faith about the Lord are described in this Discourse. The Lord said: That untutored innate faith of men is of three types for the three categories of people - Sattvic, Rajasic and Tamasic. The faith of each category confirms to their level of birth for which they are created by the Parama Purusha. He lives according to the faith or knowledge for which he is foreordained in the creation. The Sattvic are the Devas or Demigods. The Rajasic are the earthly minded people of five senses. The Tamasic are the worldly people of five senses, and are created with a nature like a beast, not knowing the revelation of the higher level of faith of the Heavenly Kingdom. The Sattvic worship the Lord. The Rajasic worship the Devas or Demigods. The Tamasic worship the dead spirits or ghosts. These three types of people take three types of food according to their inner desire. Their way and form of worship differs such as sacrifice, penance or austerity, and charity. The ‘Brahma Yagnam’ or Immortal Yoga of the Parama Purusha is the (Law of God) rule of the original Sastra, which determines what should be done or what ought not to be done by any person. OM-TAT-SAT are the three distinct characters of the Absolute Supreme Person or Brahman or Parama Purusha. The word ‘OM’ is used by the God-realised noble souls who are the knowers of Parama Purusha’s sacrifice and they always begin their various activities like charity, sacrifice, tapas or prayer by reciting the scriptural chants with utterance of the divine name of the Paramathma. The word ‘TAT’ is used with the idea that everything belongs to God, who is embodied as the Parama Purusha, the ‘TAT’, the person - Avatara Purusha. The word ‘SAT’ is used in the sense of His existence as Parama Purusha in reality, His Holiness or Righteousness.
