The Dual Diagnosis of Autism and Down Syndrome

This webinar is intended to educate families and individuals working on the co-occurrence of autism in individuals with Down syndrome. Specifically, the webinar will focus on its prevalence, how to recognize presenting symptoms in a child with a dual diagnosis, to review assessment strategies, and to describe treatment options for children with both Down syndrome and autism. We will discuss the specific challenges faced by the children and their families as they attempt to seek treatment and services within the community. Participants will hear both parent and provider perspectives on specific interventions that can help children with a dual diagnosis of Down syndrome and autism.
