A small river you can skip. A difficult target—rainbow trout in a wild water. I check if the spinning season has started yet. After a long dry spell and a dead season, I decided to check the micro river for rainbow trout. They're usually caught in the trout area, but in wild waters, it's a completely different story. The small river warms up faster than the larger ones—and I assumed the rainbow trout would move in. What I found at the start—I didn't expect. The rest of the day was a battle with tight spots, a broken fish, underfoot fights, and one rainbow trout caught using a technique that couldn't be achieved with a traditional cast.
