The Songstage | May 11, 2023 It's hard to overstate the kindness and good-natured humor Ellis Bullard and his band brought to The Songstage. When they first arrived here it happened to follow a tough moment for the band. The night before they had 4 guitars and some other vital instruments and equipment stolen from their trailer, right in the middle of a nationwide tour. But with a quick GoFundMe campaign, and the help of some local musicians, their fans had the band back in business within 24 hours. “The whole thing almost turned into a good thing in a weird way, to see the support”, said Ellis. The performance was a preview of the bands new album, Honky Tonk Ain’t Noise Pollution. Their first album, Piss-Hot Freightlining Country Music, was critically acclaimed by fans of classic country and honky tonk music. Already a mainstay in their home city of Austin, Texas, the band has become regulars at world famous venues like The Continental Club and The White Horse. 2023 also has them performing their first ACL fest this Summer as well.
