Why is no one talking about ND spirituality?

For my fellow strange ones... Welcome kindreds its jessica, I am a late-diagnosed autistic person with probable adhd (though haven’t pursued diagnosis for that). I am also an astrologer and - I guess, though the term doesn’t always sit fully easily with me - a witch. For as long as I can remember I have known that I am different. The way that I perceive and interact with the world, and the other beings in it are strange. My autism explains some of that strangeness, but it does not explain all of it. In this video I want to explore why even now that the conversation about neurodivergence is getting more and more mainstream, there is still largely silence around how we as neurodivergent people interact with things like spirituality and belief. If you feel like you share that double weirdness that I am talking about this is for you. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. In the video I mentioned quite a few studies, articles, books etc. I will link those here: Imogen’s “The Card’s We’re Dealt” series about tarot lovers who are also ND    • The Cards We're Dealt - Tarot and Neurodiv...   Follow here ‪@SaplingTarot‬ A 2018 study published in the journal Transcultural Psychiatry examined supernatural and sensory experiences in 17 high-functioning autistic young adults in Sweden. The participants reported significantly more experiences of sensing presence, feeling touch, and seeing visions without physical stimulus than a matched non-autistic group https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/... A recent review in PMC found that autistic adolescents expressed interest in supernatural beings outside traditional organised religion, and used immersion in imagination through stories and daydreaming as coping mechanisms https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles... Book: Olga Bogdashina's Autism and Spirituality: Psyche, Self and Spirit in People on the Autism Spectrum argues that spirituality plays a vital role in many autistic people's lives, and presents a framework for understanding what she calls "spiritual giftedness" within this group https://amzn.to/4euPmy1 The piece in Historic UK drawing connections between the traits listed in early modern witch-finder texts and what we'd now recognise as neurodivergent characteristics — the collecting of objects and knowledge, the unconventional household, the outsider status. (Does say "neurodiversity rather than neurodivergence which is annoying) https://www.historic-uk.com/CultureUK... Welcome Kindred, I'm Jessica, an astrologer and Welsh animist witch living in my ancestral homeland in South Wales, UK, where I home-educate my two children and walk the goddess path of everyday magic. Since the 1990s I've worked with moon wisdom, goddess devotion, and creative journaling. And it is now my honour and my lifework to guide other sensitive, intuitive folk in remembering their magic, trusting their inner knowing, and living in rhythm rather than overwhelm. I’m late-diagnosed autistic, and likely ADHD (no formal diagnosis for that - yet), and I mention this because many neurodivergent and Highly Sensitive People find their way here - my fellow strange ones, kindreds, those who always knew they were different. If that’s you, you’re in good company here.
