So I got an early start and hiked the Kuju Mountain Range. I started at Makinoto Pass at 5 a.m. and hiked Mount Kuju, Mount Inaboshi, Mount Shirakuchi, Mount Nakadake, and Tengu Castle. I really did my best despite the heat! The cool breeze in Kuju was pleasant in the morning, but after 9:00 AM the sun was strong and it got hot. The route we walked this time had almost no shade, so we recommend descending before it got too hot.
